What if your airport signage could do more than catch your eye — what if it could help the planet, too?

That’s exactly what K&R Solutions Group is making possible with the nationwide rollout of Bio Knit, a U.S.-made tension fabric powered by CiCLO® technology. Designed to reduce microplastic pollution without compromising on bold, high-performance visuals, Bio Knit is now appearing in 30+ airports and major retail and corporate spaces across the country.

This isn’t just a pretty (fabric) face.

Developed in partnership with Intrinsic Advanced Materials, CiCLO embeds biodegradable pathways directly into polyester fibers. If Bio Knit ends up in landfills, soil, or seawater, nature knows what to do — making this fabric a quiet revolutionary in the fight against plastic waste. And with OEKO-TEX® certified inks in every print, Bio Knit meets top international standards for safety and sustainability.

From Jet Bridges to Beauty Brands

While travelers may spot Bio Knit at airports like Kansas City (MCI), Richmond (RIC), and St. Pete-Clearwater (PIE), the fabric is also turning heads in the corporate world. Estée Lauder Companies recently installed more than 30 Bio Knit displays at its New York headquarters, with iconic brands like MAC and La Mer following suit. A backlit version is already in development to meet growing demand for sustainable illuminated signage.

“This is an important industry shift,” says Karen Fiorentino, managing partner of K&R Solutions Group. “We’re turning sustainability from an aspiration into an operational standard.”

The Big Picture

Through a unique partnership with Departure Media, the only national OOH company focused exclusively on airports, K&R is proving that environmental innovation belongs on the biggest stages — concourses, office lobbies, and retail flagships alike.

Because sustainability shouldn’t be an afterthought. It should be built right into the fabric.
